We sat down with Lynsey Robbie from the FFABB design team to learn more about the ArcDeco bed. The newest bed addition in the bedroom furniture collection.
Q. What inspired the design of this bed?
The Lala Low has been one of our most requested bed frames and a personal favourite for its clean lines and compact simplicity. With a love for the Art Deco curved trend, we thought this would be a simple way to play off of an existing design by softening the edges of the add on's for a whole new look.
What kind of bedroom do you imagine this piece in?
I can envision this bed used in either a large open concept bedroom as an elegant focal point, or being the main show piece in an apartment. The King bed frame version measures 128" w x 85.5"l and the Queen 112" w x 85.5"l with a low profile headboard. This allows enough space above to be able to highlight your favourite art above the bed like we did here in the render with a painting by Zoe Pawlak. The fabric ultimately determines the design mood of a room. Upholstered in linen, although still tailored the mood would be more natural, relaxed. However switch over to a Velvet or Mohair fabric and this would give the bedroom a true Luxe /glam feel.
If you were selecting this piece for your bedroom how would you dress it?
The simplicity of the headboard allows you to add depth by adding layers of texture on the bed. I would have to choose my favourite FFABBric : Linen / Dusk and would add in an Orb Pillow in the Grey Shear Happiness as well as a Troika in Parchment Mohair to add interest in geometric shapes.
